Writing on the Body: Female Embodiment and Feminist Theory

This work comprises a collection of influential readings in feminist theory. It is divided into four sections: Reading the Body; Bodies in Production, which examines the representation of the female body as a site for objectification and as a critical spectator; The Body Speaks; and Body on Stage which traces the female body through the performances that sometimes constitute gender identity.
