The Usurper: And Other Stories

The Usurper and Other Stories is a collection of shorts stories that is geared for an international audience, bringing out a unique perspective of traditional Cameroonian life as it finds a place in the modern world. Jeremiah Nana Njike returns to Cameroon from his European studies and heads to his home kingdom of Bankole, in the Bamilekeland, Western province of Cameroon. He is warmly welcomed home by his possessive grandmother, enchanting female cousin, and adorable grandfather. But it is his grandfather the seer who sweeps him into the world of his times as he makes his stay in Bankole a memorable one. Nana Njike is given a treat by his grandfather's seer friend and finds himself enchanted by his grandmother's cousin.
