In a foreword note to readers, Ian Fleming tells how one morning a manuscript appeared on his desk with an attached note signed "Vivienne Michel"; it seemed the authoress had been "involved, both perilously & romantically" with James Bond, whose exploits & adventures have much documented by the author! Flushed out with supporting evidence (what was allowed by the Official Secrets Act, of course) Fleming releases a portrait of 007 as viewed through the other end of the telescope, so to speak!
