The Night Remembers

This is an old novel featuring Jack Walsh, a retired policeman, late fifties, a widower, who functions as an apartment manager to get reduced rates on his rent. He also has a PI license.The wife of a man who had just finished serving a ten year prison term for murder wants to hire Walsh to prove his innocence. The catch is Walsh was the arresting officer all those years ago. He refuses at first, still believing the man guilty.He gets pulled into the case later that same day when another dead body turns up on the family estate. He turns up lies upon lies, family secrets, stumbles over a growing number of dead bodies, and ultimately gets to the bottom of the whole mess, all thw while dealing with the health problems of hsi girl friend, their child, and the parents that don't much like him.
