The Language of Herbs (Penhaligons)

With today's renewed interest in alternative medicine and herbal healing, many herbs are being rediscovered and put to use in the treatment of illness, in culinary preparations and as an aid to health and well-being. In this volume, the symbolic meanings that herbs held for the Victorians are explored, and the relevance of herbal remedies to modern-day life is examined. The book also includes recipes featuring herbs such as rosemary, thyme, mint and sage, and recipes for healing treatments. Advice is given on tisanes, aromatic oils and potpourris.
