The young Alexander of Macedon had few past models to learn from as he turned his backwater kingdom into the center of a world empire. Most previous accounts of Alexander have been written by specialists in classical literature, who did not have the historical perspective of J.F.C. Fuller, one of Britain's greatest military theorists.
