The Arsonist

A triple arson in a small town is conceived as a symbol of the common danger and uncertainty threatening the world on the eve of the Second World War. The problem of Jewish assimilation in the Czech milieu is a theme running through the pre-war works of this author, who emigrated to the United States in 1949.
