Sootface

Poor Sootface is abused by her two older sisters, who are lazy, bad-tempered and make her do all the work. When a great hunter who is invisible decides to marry, he decrees that only the woman who sees him shall be his bride. Though her sisters ridicule her and all the villagers laugh, Sootface sets off to visit the hunter. Rich, radiant watercolors highlight this retelling of a Native American Cinderella story.
