Kingdom's End and Other Stories

A collection of short stories, translated from the Urdu, by a writer considered the subcontinent's greatest short story writer. This excellent translation has been variously described as 'memorable' (Salman Rushdie), 'an estate of many mansions' (Farrukh Dhondy), 'impressive' (Anita Desai). All the translators unvaryingly call Manto the subcontinent's finest modern short story writer.
