Islam in the African-American Experience

Presents the history of Islam in the lives of African Americans. Divided into two parts, this work roots twentieth-century African-American Islam in the Middle East, West Africa, and antebellum America in part I. It tells the story of the 'Prophets of the City' - the leaders of the new urban-based African-American Muslim movements in part II.
