In this book the African-American dancer discusses his experience with vitiligo, a skin disease where patches of skin lose their pigment. Wright danced professionally with the Negro Dance Theater and the Jean Leon Destine Company of Haitian Dancers. The book describes his Louisiana childhood, his break into show business, encounters with Martha Graham and other figures, and his decision to undergo complete depigmentation.
