Catherine, Head of the House

Catherine, the absent minded minister's daughter is now the head of the school but it is the irrepressible Lalage who dominates this book. Lalage previously attended a progressive school and insists that to do anything she doesn't want to - or not to do something she does - will give her what one puzzled contemporary calls 'inner bissions.'
