Sillars, and Tarla Rai Peterson (all U. of Utah) develop an audience-centered approach to the study of argumentation that incorporates both contemporary scholarship and the heritage from Ancient Greece and Rome and Europe. They describe applications of argumentation in law, science, religion, business, and government and politics.
