Tempestuous yet virtuous, the beautiful Anne Boleyn, hand-maiden to Queen Katherine, reluctabtly found herself the apple of King Henry's eye. Embittered by the queen's inability to provide him with a son, Henry was already notorious for seeking consolation with a varied succession of women-- Anne's own sister among them.Determined not to meet the same fate as her disgraced sister, Anne refused Henry's every advance on the grounds that she was already betrothed and that Henry himself was married.
