Albert Camus & the Minister

Howard Mumma, a Methodist minister who served as a guest preacher at the American Church in Paris in the 1950s, reveals his uncommon friendship the renowned existentialist and Nobel Prize winner, Albert Camus. In a series of spirited and probing dialogues over the course of several years, as the two thinkers discussed the belief systems which had shaped their lives, Dr. Mumma attempted to guide Camus into an understanding of Christian theology. "Almost 50 years have passed since these conversations", says Mumma, "and they haunt me to this day".
